Gas Station and Convenience Store Cleaning

Fuel islands, canopies, forecourt concrete and store entrances take more abuse than any other surface we clean: fuel drips, oil, gum, tire marks and spilled coffee. We clean them at night with hot water and degreaser, and the site opens in the morning looking new.

How it works

Gas station and convenience store cleaning, explained

A forecourt takes more abuse than any other surface we clean. Fuel, oil and tire rubber bond to the concrete, and the canopy collects grime that drips on every car below.

Why a rinse is not enough

Fuel and oil soak into concrete and hold the dirt with them. Cold water moves the surface dirt and leaves the stain. Hot water and degreaser lift the residue out of the concrete, and a surface cleaner leaves the forecourt even instead of striped.

How a night clean runs

We work at night, one side of the forecourt at a time, with cones around the pumps we are on. The store stays open the whole time. Canopy ceilings, columns and fascia, the pump islands, the concrete, the entrance and the trash enclosure are all part of it, and the site opens in the morning looking new.

After the winter

Salt and slush get tracked across the forecourt and into the store all winter, and the film they leave is slippery when wet and dulls the concrete. A spring clean takes it off, and it is the one most stations should never skip.

How often

  • Forecourt concrete. Every three months at a busy site. Truck stops and very high-traffic locations often go monthly.
  • Canopy. Once or twice a year.
  • Entrance and sidewalks. With every forecourt clean, because that is where customers walk.

Straight answers

Gas station and convenience store cleaning questions

Do you close the station to clean it?

No. We work at night, one side of the forecourt at a time, and cone off the pumps we are on. The store stays open.

How often should a gas station be washed?

The forecourt every three months for a busy site, the canopy once or twice a year.

Where does the wash water go?

Degreaser and fuel residue are contained and recovered, not sent down the storm drain.
